Route
Colombo → Sigiriya → Polonnaruwa → Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Horton Plains → Ella → Udawalawe → Mirissa → Galle
Day 01 – Welcome to Sri Lanka
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport where you will be welcomed by your private chauffeur-guide before transferring to Colombo. Spend a relaxed evening at Galle Face Green enjoying the oceanfront atmosphere, family-friendly street food, and a beautiful sunset over the Indian Ocean. Day 02 – Cultural Triangle Discovery
Travel towards Sri Lanka's famous Cultural Triangle through scenic countryside with comfortable family-friendly rest stops along the way. Visit the UNESCO-listed Dambulla Cave Temple before continuing to Sigiriya and settling into a spacious eco-resort surrounded by nature. Day 03 – Sigiriya & Village Life
Begin the day with a visit to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress before enjoying an authentic village experience featuring a bullock cart ride, traditional farming activities, and a home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch. Guests may also choose an optional sunset visit to Pidurangala Rock for panoramic views. Age Note: Sigiriya Rock climb is recommended for children aged 6 years and above. Day 04 – Ancient Kingdoms & Wildlife Safari
Explore the UNESCO-listed Ancient City of Polonnaruwa by bicycle or private vehicle at a relaxed family-friendly pace before continuing to Minneriya National Park for an afternoon jeep safari. During the season, witness the famous Elephant Gathering alongside monkeys, deer, and abundant birdlife. Age Note: Safari is suitable for all ages. Child seating arrangements and seat belts are available where applicable. Day 05 – Kandy Cultural Heritage
Journey towards Kandy through Sri Lanka's picturesque countryside before visiting the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Complete the day with a relaxing lakeside stroll or an optional Kandyan cultural dance performance. Overnight Stay: Amaya Hills, Earl's Regency, Cinnamon Citadel Kandy, or similar family-friendly resort.
Day 06 – Gardens, Nature & Local Traditions
Spend the day exploring the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya, followed by an interactive spice garden visit introducing Sri Lanka's famous herbs and spices. Families may also enjoy an optional tuk-tuk ride around Kandy Lake before returning to the hotel. Day 07 – Tea Country Escape
Travel into Sri Lanka's cool hill country through waterfalls and emerald tea plantations. Visit a working tea estate and factory before enjoying a leisurely evening walk around the picturesque Gregory Lake. Day 08 – Horton Plains & Ella Highlands
Depart early for Horton Plains National Park and enjoy a guided trek through cloud forests and montane grasslands towards World's End and Baker's Falls before continuing to Ella through spectacular hill-country scenery. Age Note: The Horton Plains trek is recommended for children aged 8 years and above due to the walking distance, uneven terrain, and cool climate. Day 09 – Ella Family Adventure
Visit the famous Nine Arches Bridge before enjoying an easy hike to Little Adam's Peak with panoramic mountain views. Families may also choose to experience the Flying Ravana Zipline or simply relax at Ella's cafés and scenic viewpoints. Age Note: Little Adam's Peak is recommended for children aged 5 years and above. Flying Ravana Zipline is generally suitable for guests aged 6 years and above, subject to minimum height and weight requirements. Day 10 – Elephant Safari Adventure
Travel south via the beautiful Ravana Falls before arriving at Udawalawe National Park for an exciting afternoon safari renowned for its large elephant population and abundant wildlife. Season Note: Elephants can be seen throughout the year, with the best wildlife activity during the early morning and late afternoon. Overnight Stay: Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort, Kalu's Hideaway, Centauria Wild, or similar family-friendly safari lodge.
Day 11 – Southern Beach Escape
Leave the wilderness behind as you travel to Mirissa on Sri Lanka's southern coastline. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, swimming, or enjoying the laid-back coastal atmosphere with your family. Age Note: Swimming is recommended only within designated lifeguard-supervised beach areas and when sea conditions are suitable. Day 12 – Galle Fort Discovery
Guests may choose an optional early morning whale watching excursion before travelling to the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort. Explore its colonial streets, cafés, boutique shops, museums, and oceanfront ramparts before settling into your heritage-style accommodation. Age Note: Whale watching is recommended for children aged 4 years and above, subject to sea conditions and individual comfort levels. Overnight Stay: Radisson Blu Galle, Le Grand Galle, The Fort Printers, or similar family-friendly coastal hotel.
Day 13 – Farewell Sri Lanka
Enjoy a relaxed morning exploring Galle Fort or visit a nearby turtle conservation centre at Kosgoda or Koggala before travelling comfortably to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward departure.
